FAQ – Workshops

Do I need to bring my own laptop or will a computer be available for me?

Yes, you do need to bring a laptop. Currently all Yellowcase workshop attendees are required to bring an Apple laptop. The laptop can be of any size and must run Apple’s OS X operating system. It is also strongly recommend to bring the mouse and power cord.

Can I bring an iPad instead?

No. iPads do not run the same operating system as desktop and laptop Macs and will not be useful for these classes unless specifically mentioned in the class description and requirements.

What happens if I miss a class?

Like any workshop, college class or seminar, if you miss it, you miss it. However, many of the topics are covered several times over so you will pick up a little of what you missed during the next class. However, it is strongly recommended that you attend all classes to make the most of the workshop.

Can I bring my lunch or dinner to class?

No. However, beverages and appetizers are served at no cost during class.

Are cell phones allowed during class?

Absolutely not. Yellowcase asks that all participants respect the other attendees so that they may enjoy the class and make the most of it. Cell phones must be set to silent or vibrate during class and all calls may be taken outside if answered during class.

Why do I need to bring a mouse?

It is extremely important to become not just familiar with, but versatile with mouse and the additional options it offers over the laptop trackpad. Those who insist on using a trackpad will soon find themselves playing catch-up.

Can I use a Wacom tablet instead of a mouse?

Yes. If you feel more at ease with a Wacom® or other pen tablet, then feel free to bring it.

Can I bring someone with me to class?

No. Only paying participants may be present during the workshop. Assistants, children or friends may not attend.
